Orientation Overview

CSUF Orientation hosts two major programs to prepare you for your Titan Experience:ÌýNew Titan Orientation andÌýParent & Supporter Orientation.

Mission

The purpose of CSUF Orientation is to provide new students and their parents and supporters with the tools, resources, and connections necessary for a successful academic, cultural, and social transition into CSUF. Through this mission, CSUF Orientation seeks to contribute to student persistence by supporting new students in building a holistic foundation for their first year at CSUF, encompassing connections to each other, campus resources, and the Titan Experience.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be exposed to student involvement opportunities and begin to connect their interests to potential involvements.

Ìý

Students will feel a sense of belonging in the CSUF community, be confident about their college choice, and feel excited for their first year at CSUF to begin.

Students will either make new and meaningful connections while attending in-person orientation and understand what opportunities are available to continue to meet other students while on campus. If completing online orientation, students will understand what opportunities will be available to them to meet other students once they arrive on campus.

Students will learn about academic tips and strategies for success relating to study habits, academic resources, building relationships with professors, and more.

New Titan Orientation

All new students are required to attend New Titan Orientation. Read below to review the steps to complete and satisfy the orientation requirement.

Step 1: Access Your Orientation ChecklistÌý

Your Orientation Checklist is your one-stop resource for navigating life as a New Titan. In your Orientation Checklist, you will access Pre-Orientation, register for your Orientation session, register parents and supporters, and more. You will receive access to your Orientation Checklist via CSUF email in early May.

Step 2: Complete Pre-Orientation on Canvas

Once you gain access to your Orientation Checklist, you will be prompted to complete the Pre-Orientation course on Canvas. Pre-Orientation is a simple Canvas module that will prepare you for your Orientation session. In other words, it is a precursor to the actual Orientation, but a very necessary step. Pre-Orientation should be completed prior to your attendance to New Titan Orientation in the summer.Ìý

Step 3: Sign Up for and Attend New Titan Orientation in early May

Dates will vary based on major and academic college. These dates will occur throughout June and July.Ìý

NOTE: Orientation is separate from any other module or event put on by your academic college. All messages and requirements about Orientation will be sent from orientation@fullerton.edu . Only completing your academic college’s online module or only attending your academic college’s event will not fully satisfy the Orientation requirement.
